Vitamin D
Why vitamin D is measured on blood panels and how it relates to bone health, immunity, and sun exposure.
What it is
Vitamin D refers to a family of fat-soluble compounds. The form most often reported on lab panels is 25-hydroxyvitamin D, which reflects both dietary intake and what your skin produces with sun exposure.
Why it shows up in longevity panels
Low or suboptimal vitamin D has been associated with bone health, muscle function, and immune regulation in population studies. It is one of the most commonly re-tested markers when people run quarterly or annual bloodwork.
How BioLoop thinks about it
We use your actual lab values and trends—not generic internet ranges—to contextualize vitamin D alongside lipids, metabolic markers, and your stated goals. Education in the product is not a prescription; your clinician interprets results for you.
